BTS Blog Hop and TpT Giveaway!

Wow! It's that time of year again! Back..... to..... School!

I'm teaming up with Heidi over at Droppin' Knowledge for a great back to school GIVEAWAY!

I've been a busy bee getting my room ready! I always try to add or tweak a few things to make it a little different. I used to try to do a new theme every year.... that got expensive and old really quickly. I got tired of changing everything each and every year. A few years ago I decided to go with a colorful theme. Black with lots of colors! I love it.

I did update a few things and have a few new creations this year:

My new birthday board is bright and colorful!  It includes a "Happy Birthday" banner posters for each month!  I laminated each poster and use sharpie to write names and birthdates for each child.  To remove sharpie, just color with dry erase marker and wipe off!  As good as new!  This set also includes birthday certificated for the kids, too!  You can get it HERE!

My Classroom Job chart is one of my favorites!  This packet includes 52 job cards.  You can pick and choose what you need for your classroom.  I printed each job and attached to colorful library pockets.  You can use these on a magnetic board or pocket chart!  I colorful title is also included for displaying on the wall!  You can get it HERE!

I use Secret Agent Numbers for EVERYTHING in my classroom! And I mean everything!  I make several sets and they are EVERYWHERE AND used for MANY things!

Each child is assigned a number at the beginning of the year.  Then use these secret agent numbers to label cubbies, mailboxes, book bins, desks, supplies.... you name it!  I also have couple of sets with magnetic tape on the back.  I use one set on my Daily 5 choice board and the other set is used for students to check in when they come into the classroom each day.  They simply move the number from the word "Home" to the word "School."  It's a great time saver in the morning!    Secret Agent Numbers are great to use for student participation, too!  Simply hot glued each number to a craft stick and put them in a little bucket.  I randomly pick a stick!  Keeps the kids on their toes!    Need to partner students up?  Pick a stick!   I love my Secret Agent Numbers!  You can get them HERE!

And last, but certainly not least, I have new name plates!  They are available in two styles:

Blame It On Summer!

I have been M.I.A. I blame it on summer vacation! Why is it so difficult to stick to a schedule when you have the summer off?

Well, I have been somewhat busy. I did have time to create a new alphabet for my classroom. My other alphabet was O-L-D and I needed a change! Here is what I created:

I liked it so much that I made it in colorful chevron, too!

They are now available in my TpT store!  Please click on the images to check them out!

I did have a chance to get some R&R!  Hubby and I just got back from a week in beautiful Minocqua, Wisconsin.  Lots of fishing, boating, sun and fun!

Hope you are enjoying your summer!

Going Back to School and BIG NEWS!

I can't believe it's almost time to go back to school!  Where has the summer gone?

I'm linking up with Farley for her August Currently.

Listening to:  I'm listening to my cat "hunt" for "mice."   I love my cat, I really do.  But he has this annoying hobby.  He hunts for these little fake mice.  While hunting he YOWLS at the top of his little kitty lungs. Don't want to burst his bubble, but he doesn't even know what a real mouse looks like.

After the hunt!

Loving:  My new back to school bunting!  So cute!

I got it from Fabulous in First.  You can get it for FREE when you follow her on Facebook!

Thinking:  The next few weeks are going to be crazy busy!  It's back to school time.... need I say more?

Wanting:  More summer.  This summer flew by!

Needing:  To set up my classroom! I'm going in tomorrow and I have so much to do!  I did get some shopping done.....

It's the Organizing Utility Tote.  LOVE IT!  It has pockets to hold everything I need and is large enough to hold those ginormous teacher manuals.

3.  Caffeine!  Coffee or Diet Coke, depending on what time it is!

I have more Back to School Must Haves.  You can see them HERE.

I have BIG NEWS! In honor of setting up my classroom,  I am having a BIG, BACK TO SCHOOL SALE! It starts Monday, August 5th and will run thru Thursday!

Must Haves

Hi, Friends!

I'm seeing Back To School (BTS) sales everywhere!  Seeing these made me think of some of my favorite BTS items.

1.  Mr. Sketch Markers  There's nothing better than a smelly marker!  I remember smelling the smile my teacher drew on my paper with the cherry marker.  Ahhhhh!  I can smell it now!

2.  Scotch Thermal Laminator  BEST PURCHASE EVER!  I use it all of the time!  Find stuff on blogs, Pinterest, TpT or create something and BAM it's laminated! I found mine at Walmart and it was not very expensive.

3.  Pencil Sharpener  I am not a fan of the ol' hang on the wall kind o' sharpeners.  Is anyone?  They eat the pencils like nobody's business.  I found one by Bostitch that I like.  It sharpens pencils quickly and is quieter than most.  Check it out HERE.

4.  Binders (and lots of 'em)  I use them for everything!  Lesson plans, grade book, units, keeping track of parent communication, the list goes on and on!  I also love pocket dividers to hold loose papers.  Check them out HERE.

5.  Last, but not least, every teacher needs a Door Buddy!  The trusted next door neighbor!  I have the best door buddy a girl could ask for!  She watches my class during a quick bathroom break, listens to me vent, offers words of encouragement, and shares, shares, shares!  The cost of a good door buddy is PRICELESS!

What are some of your essential BTS items?
